Figure Skater

Many figure skating photographs are taken inside the confines of an arena on artificial ice. I have wanted to photograph a figure skater on a frozen pond for quite some time. Recently, the opportunity presented itself to photograph an accomplished figure skater at both an arena and on a frozen pond. Here is one of the photographs from the pond. A dedicated performer, she braved -18C wind chill, snow, and bad ice conditions.
